Municipal Court Warrants in Reeves County
A municipal warrant belongs to the city court that issued it. Pecos Municipal Court handles Class C misdemeanors, city and state ordinance violations punishable by fine, traffic citations, and juvenile citations. Its official page says the court issues arrest and search warrants. Those records are separate from the 143rd District Court and from the Reeves County JP precincts.
Reeves County has no verified public countywide warrant list. A city citation result may help find a case, but call the municipal clerk to confirm a warrant, appearance requirement, payment, or recall.
Pecos Municipal Warrant Records in Reeves County
Pecos Municipal Court is at City Hall, 115 W. 3rd Street. The court lists (432) 445-2417, court@pecostx.gov, and weekday hours from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Its portal can search citations, but the public page does not promise that a payment alone clears a warrant or removes an appearance requirement.
Before paying a Pecos citation with warrant or FTA language, ask the court whether a judge date, bond, or other order is needed. The city accepts Visa or Mastercard, money order, cashier's check, and cash for citations. Personal checks are not accepted; online card payments carry a 3% processing fee.
The official Pecos Municipal Court page lists its role and payment options.
Which Reeves County Cities Keep Municipal Warrant Records
Official sources verify Pecos and Toyah as municipal reporting channels. Pecos publishes a court page and payment portal. Toyah appears in Texas Office of Court Administration reporting, but current court staff and a city warrant portal were not located. Balmorhea has a city office and a verified county JP court, not a current city warrant page.
| City | Court | What It Handles |
|---|---|---|
| Pecos | Town of Pecos City Municipal Court | Class C, ordinance, traffic, juvenile citation, and court process |
| Toyah | Toyah municipal reporting channel | OCA reporting confirms a municipal court channel; current public portal not located |
| Balmorhea | JP Precinct 3 is verified | County traffic and Class C matters; no current city warrant page located |
The Texas Judicial Directory helps locate courts by level. It does not search a Reeves County municipal warrant.
The directory image shows court-level routing, while each city or JP clerk confirms the local record.
Reeves County Pecos Capias Counts
The OCA report for September 2024 through August 2025 counted 290 Pecos capiases pro fine. It separately reported 1 Class C, 13 Class A or B, and 9 felony arrest warrants. These are aggregate municipal activity figures, not a count of warrants still open in Reeves County.
The categories show why the process label matters. A capias pro fine follows an unsatisfied judgment in the lower-court setting. It is not the same as a new arrest warrant. The OCA report also does not provide a name-level lookup or the current status of any case.
For the individual balance or next step, contact the issuing Pecos court or JP clerk rather than applying the OCA total to a personal case.
How to Check a Reeves County Municipal Court Warrant
Start with the city court or the city name on the citation. Pecos offers an online citation search, and its Municipal Court can confirm whether a result carries warrant status. Toyah has a public-information request route but no current indexed portal. For a Balmorhea-area county citation, use JP 3 rather than assuming a municipal docket.
- For a Pecos ticket, search by citation number or the portal's visible name and identifier modes.
- Call Pecos Municipal Court at (432) 445-2417 if the result mentions FTA, warrant, hearing, or balance.
- For Toyah, use the official city forms page and request the current municipal clerk and case route.
- For a JP citation, call the precinct printed on the notice. Ask about appearance, payment, and recall before visiting.
Toyah Municipal Warrant Records in Reeves County
Toyah appears in OCA municipal reporting, but the official city site did not expose a current court clerk page, citation portal, or public warrant list. The city provides an All Forms and Reports page with a Public Information Request Form. That makes records contact the practical starting point.
Ask for the current municipal clerk, the citation or cause number, and any existing warrant, recall, return, or payment record. Do not use the Pecos portal for Toyah. A Pecos search does not state that it covers another city's cases.
The official Toyah forms page links the request materials. The accessible index does not list the form's fields, fee, or response time.
What a Reeves County Municipal Court Warrant Record Shows
A municipal record may identify the city court, citation or cause number, ordinance or offense, due date, judgment balance, process type, and next setting. Reeves County cities do not use one published shared warrant format. The example row describes fields only.
| Warrant / Cause Number | Local format not published. No shared city format |
|---|---|
| Charge / Offense | City ordinance, Class C, traffic, or other court matter. |
| Issuing Court | Pecos Municipal Court or the city court named in the file. |
| Bond / Fine Amount | Confirm the amount and acceptable method with that court. |
| Status | Ask whether process is issued, served, recalled, or still pending. |
Balmorhea City and Reeves County JP Warrants
Balmorhea's city office and Reeves County JP Precinct 3 are different contacts. The city office at 101 Northeast Main can route a city-record question, but the verified lower-court contact for precinct citations is JP 3 at P.O. Box 193, Balmorhea. No current city warrant portal or municipal police page was located.
If the notice is a JP case, call JP 3 at (432) 375-2663 or the shared county line at ext. 3. Ask for the precinct, case status, payment or hardship route, and whether the court reports an FTA/FTP hold to DPS.
Resolving a Municipal Court Warrant
The city court, not the serving officer, controls payment and recall. Reeves County does not publish a shared municipal bond schedule, a citywide recall form, or a safe-surrender window. Ask the clerk whether payment resolves the warrant or whether a judge appearance remains.
- Confirm the city or JP court, case number, process type, and current balance.
- Ask about payment, a new setting, a hardship hearing, or bond, and whether an appearance is required.
- Keep the receipt, filed order, or clerk email that states what the court changed.
- Ask when the warrant and any reported license hold will be updated.
Warning: A citation balance, a municipal warrant, and a DPS renewal hold are separate records; confirm each with the office that controls it.
Reeves County Municipal Warrant Recall Proof
After payment, bond, or appearance, request a written docket entry or clerk confirmation that the municipal process was recalled. Ask whether the underlying charge, judgment, or next setting remains open. A payment portal receipt alone may not answer both questions.
If an FTA/FTP hold also appears, contact the reporting court and then DPS or OmniBase. A status change in one city system does not automatically update every Reeves County court or state record.
No current Reeves County municipal amnesty or reduced-fee event was located. Use the issuing court's normal route and confirm before traveling.
